Love Tattoos
The sentiment of love has been portrayed all throughout human history through any means possible, whether gifts or prose, poetry or music, paintings or theater, love is such a strong and universal notion that no kind of art has neglected representing it, and when it comes to love tattoos there are plenty of ways of showing one’s love.
Generally the tattoos ideas that revolve around love tattoos can be separated into a couple of categories; there can be love design tattoos that focus on symbols, some other focus on mythological figures, while others are simply names, the names of loved ones.
Probably the most common and obvious symbol for love tattoos is the classic heart tattoo which can nowadays be colored in a whole plethora of shades and nuances and it can be decorated with names, flowers and whatever else one might want. And of course all the variations of heart tattoos fall into this category.
Another widely used symbol in love tattoos is the rose tattoo, the rose symbolizes a particular type of love, one that is pure; roses have always been a symbol for lovers relating to sentiments of passion and purity as well as the duality of love which can sting and hurt sometimes just like a rose would.
Angel tattoos are also a big part of love tattoos, with Cupid angels being probably just as popular in illustrating love as hearts are. In this category there are the cherub tattoos as well which are generally comprised of a baby angel with wings that are usually pictured sitting on clouds.
Some other symbols used to represent love tattoos are swans, lips, cherry blossoms as well as cross tattoos and star tattoos.
A whole other category of love tattoos are those that are comprised of the names of loved ones. Now these are the sorts of tattoos that can be considered risky having made because many people across time have tattooed the name of a significant other into their skin just to have the relationship later dissolve and then remaining with that constant reminder of it. So maybe a better idea would be to maybe tattoo the person’s initial or maybe their zodiac sign or something related to them, not their name. Because if you do that and you eventually split up then your tattoo can stand for other things as well.
Now considering the fact that love tattoos can take different shapes, sizes and meanings they can also find a place pretty much anywhere on the body. As such love tattoos can take the shape of wrist tattoos or maybe ankle tattoos if the wearer wants to be able to hide them when the occasion calls for it, usually women tend to have love tattoos done on their ankles, however they are also the ones that have their love tattoos done as lower back tattoos which have a high degree of visibility and they offer a wide array of possibilities for combining with the other motifs usually found in love tattoos such as angels, or flowers or hearts or anything that they want.
